Have you ever noticed that as you go off to college that your friends from back home seem to grow apart? I have noticed this in my life. Some of the girls that were really good friends seem not to talk with me any more. I have no idea what has happened besides each of us going our own way. Sometimes Iwish we would still talk, but I do not think it will happen. When I was at home this summer, one of the girls and I spoke for about 5 mins before she rushed off to hang out with the youth gang. However, not all friendships went down the drain. One of them grew stronger. I think this is possible because we both went pretty far away from home and we are both serious about our education. What brings this up? Today is her birthday. I wish I hadn't lost her extension. I would have called her and surprise her. But I emailed and wished her happy birthday. I cannot wait till Christmas so she and I can hang out again. This Christmas is going to be a lot of fun. I know a part of growing up includes growing apart from those close to you in high school. Sometimes, I believe that these friendships I make here at college will be longer lasting and much deeper then those in high school because of dorm life. I certainly miss some of those high school friendships, but I love my friendships here at college. I wouldn't trade the friendships I have now for anything.
